Glengrey House is an adult day respite centre open Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 4.30pm.  Providing services to frail aged people and people with disabilities (and their carers) living in the Derwent Valley area.

Glengrey House offers different services to different people:

For the client

Glengrey House offers a social outlet and provides a sense of belonging to the community. It also provides the opportunities to learn new skills and rediscover old skills.  There is the chance to share experiences and to adopt the healthy lifestyle promoted at Glengrey House.

To the carer

Glengrey House offers daily respite, a chance to "re-charge the batteries', to catch up on jobs or what they want for the day.  Go shopping, to the hairdressers, visiting, play sport etc.  All this safe in the knowledge that the person they care for is enjoying a day of interesting activities and friendship in the company of others while having their needs catered for. 

How is Glengrey House Funded?

Glengrey House receives funding from the Crown through the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Social Services. 

Glengrey House is also sponsored and supported by the Derwent Valley Council.

How do I become a Glengrey House Client?

Simply contact the Glengrey House Coordinator on (03) 6261 8555 to make an enquiry.  The next step will be a assessment interview through My Aged Care's Regional Assessment Service to determine your eligibility for the services provided by Glengrey House. 

How much do I pay?

Daily fees are $14.00 per person, made up of

Meals - $6
Transport - (from) $6
HACC fee - $2
